Our president Wei presenting certificate of appreciation in speaking at our club meeting to Kirby on Volunteer work at Sri Lanka.

Kirby shared his experience in Sri Lanka where the firefighters team helped to build houses and a medical and dental centre. They had also visited El Salvador where they helped to build houses.

He shared with members interesting stories such as being interrogated by RCMP when they were dismantling the playground in Richmond to rebuild in Sri Lanka.

Besides working on the building tasks, they also spent time with locals with magic show and soccer games while they were in Sri Lanka.

Kirby and some firefighters will join the Refilwe project of the Club next year.  They will work on the project along with the students from Hugh Boyd.  Magdalen commented that a committee will be set up for the project and Kirby will help the students to raise money.  The students will do a presentation at the Rotary Zone 24-32 Institute meeting in Vancouver in October.
