Building a Peace Garden in Richmond’s Garden City Park

Welcome to the future site of the Rotary Peace Garden at Garden City Community Park! Richmondites may soon witness the transformation of this park into a serene sanctuary, thanks to the initiative lead by our club.

Our vision is to establish a new haven of peace and tranquility within the park's grounds. Explaining the essence of the garden, Mayor Brodie emphasized its dual purpose: to serve as a poignant reminder of the importance of peace, both locally and globally, and to offer visitors a serene retreat amidst the hustle and bustle of city life. Unlike typical sports-centric park amenities, the Rotary Peace Garden will provide a space for quiet contemplation and reflection.

Adding a profound historical touch to the garden, a seedling from one of the resilient ginkgo trees that survived the bombing of Hiroshima during World War II will find its home within the garden upon its completion.

Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this transformative journey towards creating a lasting legacy of peace and serenity in our beloved Garden City Community Park. Together, let's sow the seeds of peace and harmony for generations to come.
