Join Us July 17th: DG Drew Antrobus Returns to Richmond Sunset!

President Jim, Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset is looking forward to July 17 Wednesday 6:00 at Quilchena Golf & Country Club for the annual visit by Rotary 5040 District Governor, for this year DG Drew Antrobus is the member and Past President of Richmond Sunset.  The Home Club of the District Governor.

DG Drew will share his passion and action of the year from July 1 to June 30 2024.

Let us all attend and bring our family and friends for a year full of Magic to serve our community.

Here is the Biography of our District Governor Drew Antrobus:

BIO – Andrew (Drew) Antrobus CPA, CMA, CET

Rotary Journey:

Drew has been a proud Rotarian since 1986 and is currently the District Governor and is set to lead District 5040 in 2024-25. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset. His commitment to Rotary is evident in his recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow +5, a member of the Polio Plus Society, and a Foundation Benefactor, Sustaining Member, and Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) Member. Drew has contributed over 37 years of service at both the club and district levels, holding numerous key positions, including three-time Past President, twice District Conference Chair, Assistant and Executive Assistant Governor, Vice Chair of the Foundation Committee, District Trainer, and a Certified Peace Conversation Facilitator. He has also been the Lead Facilitator for PNW PETS. He is a Charter Member of both the Ottawa Bytown Rotary Club in District 7040 and the Pacific Northwest Passport Club in District 5050. His dedication to continuous learning is reflected as a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Program and ongoing participation in RLI Graduate Level training courses.

Professional Achievements:

 Drew’s professional background is equally impressive. He is a retired Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), with a foundation in Civil Engineering as a Certified Civil Engineering Technologist (CET). Drew has over 30 years of experience in accounting management, senior business analysis, project management, costing, and finance. His expertise extends to Business Re-engineering and ERP system implementation, having worked with systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, and Great Plains. Drew has led cross-functional project teams and managed significant business transformation initiatives in both the private and public sectors, including three SAP implementations at the Department of National Defence (DND), where he co-authored The Cost Recovery Policy for Foreign Military Training in Canada.

Community Service

Drew is deeply committed to community service. He is a Nationally Certified Coach (NCCP) Level 2 in both Basketball and Baseball, having coached Little League Baseball for over 18 years, taking two Senior Boys teams to provincial championships, and coaching Competitive Girls Basketball for 6 years. Drew has also been involved in minor hockey as a Certified Level 3 Trainer and hockey manager for 12 years. His leadership extended to serving as the Board Chair for the Greenboro Community Centre in Ottawa.

Personal Life

 On a personal note, Drew and his wife, Judy Smith, who is also a Rotarian and the 2024-25 District Learning Facilitator, live in Richmond with their canine family member, a large Standard Poodle named Sherlock. Drew is the proud father of two children: a daughter who is a teacher living in Halifax and married with two children, and a married son living in Ottawa. Drew and Judy are also a passionate foodies who enjoys cooking together.
